Fall 2017 saw Dorothy McGee fall, break a hip, have surgery and receive inpatient rehabilitation. When it was time for her to go home after surgery, Dorothy and her family selected Encore Rehabilitation –Clanton for her care because it was close to her home. Now they have more than just convenience to them keep coming to Encore. Dorothy’s daughter Brenda shares, “We continue with Encore because of the care and the skill the staff provides. From the time we enter the front door, it is obvious how the staff cares about their patients. This includes everybody-receptionist, front desk, and therapists.”

Congratulations to the Clanton Encore Athlete of the Month, Kelsey Headley! Kelsey is a Senior at Chilton County high school and plays varsity softball (#10). Right now, they lady Tigers are *Overall 9-8 Region 1-2 and just recently reclaimed the county championship title. Her hobbies are her game, she loves playing softball and hanging out with friends. Good luck the rest of the season, Kelsey! Finish our the season strong!
Congratulations to Brandon Craig who was chosen as the Clanton Encore Patient of the Month! Brandon is junior at Verbena High School and an active member of the Verbena Be There: Anti-Bullying club. He is also enrolled and taking classes at Lecroy Technical School. Outside of his busy school life, Brandon works at Clanton’s local radio station, 98.3 WSMX, and is a volunteer with The Pentecost Fire Department. After high school, he wants to attend college for nursing and work his way up to being a doctor or study in sports medicine. Keep up the good work, Brandon!
Congratulations to Noah Glenn for being chosen as the Clanton Encore Athlete of the Month. Noah is a freshman at Jemison High School and plays on the Offensive Line for the Varsity Panther Football Team. He attends honor classes and has a 4.3 GPA. When he’s not on the football field, he enjoys reading and playing the piano. Noah’s future plans are to play college football and major in Sports Medicine or Orthodontics. Noah would like to take this opportunity to thank his surgeon, Dr. Lyle Cain; his Encore Therapist, Adam Powell; and his coaches, Jake Hogan and Donny Eslinger for their support and encouragement during his injury and rehabilitation.
Congratulations to the Clanton Encore Athlete of the Month, Roberto “Birdie” Abarca! Roberto is 17 years old and plays football for Jemison High School. His positions in football include linebacker/kicker and he enjoys working out for his sport. He has two sibling, Maria Abarca who plays volleyball and basketball for Jemison, and Antonio Abarca who attends Jemison Intermediate school. Roberto plans to attend UAB for law school after he graduates. Keep up the good work, Roberto!
Congratulations to the Columbiana Encore Athlete of the Month, Connor Preston! Connor is a senior athlete from Shelby County High School in Columbiana, AL. He is a varsity pitcher (#1), and second baseman, for the baseball team. His favorite class in school is history and his hobbies consist of church and sports. After high school, Connor plans to attend Mobile University. Connor is the son of Steve and Shelli Preston. Good luck during baseball season, Connor, keep up the good work!
Congratulations to the Clanton Clinic Encore athlete of the month, Clay Cunningham! Clay is a 16 year old, mulit-sport, junior at Jemison High School. He is a left tackle for the football team and a pitcher for the baseball team. His brother, Dillion, also plays on the baseball team. Clay is interested in attending Florida, Auburn, or anywhere that offers him a baseball scholarship. Good luck in both football and baseball seasons, Clay!

He plays alongside his brother, Phillip Lenoir, who plays linebacker and quarterback. Will would like to attend UNA after high school on a baseball scholarship. Good luck this season, Will! Congratulations to Eian Headley and the Central Alabama Crush 10U state Champions from Clanton, AL! Eian Headley will be 11 on June 22nd and has 6 home runs this season. Last year, Eian was picked as MVP and attended the All-Star World Series where he won the Home Run Derby in his age division. His older brother and sister, who also play baseball and softball, have been his mentors and both work with him on the side. Eian and the team have been playing baseball together since they were 5 years old, and are headed to the World Series in Panama City Beach, FL June 23-27th. The coaches of team are Head Coach: Jeff Green, Asst Coach: Oliver Headley, Jeremy Baker, Chris Miller, and Jamey McCauley.
